About Us
Our Story
Inca Trail Machu Picchu started by a team of our most specialized destination travel professionals who wanted to provide customized travel experience for each trip. The selection of tours found on this catalog are fully customizable, most require permits and tickets, but everything is taken care of.
What began as a useful project in Cusco has grown into a fully operational department with offices in Arequipa, Peru and Cusco, Peru. This presence means you get authenticity of a local Peruvian operator whose team grew up here.
We've never stopped being a small, hands-on operation. Our manager still reviews every itinerary. Our head guide has trekked the Inca Trail over 400 times. And our office team in Cusco knows every piece of logistics needed.
Our Credentials
- Licensed by Peru Ministry of Tourism (MINCETUR): Authorized to operate treks on the Inca Trail and all protected trails in the Cusco region

- SERNAP Cusco: Fully registered with the National Service of Natural Protected Areas
Why Choose Us
Direct Operations: No Middlemen
We operate with our own team: our guides, our porters, our equipment. When you book with us, you know exactly who will be guiding you, cooking your meals, and carrying your gear. This direct model means quality control from the first email to the last day on the trail.
Local Expertise with International Standards
Our Cusco-based team has decades of combined Inca Trail experience. They know the trail conditions in every season, the best campsite spots, and how to read the weather at 4,000 meters. You get local knowledge backed by international service standards.
Responsible & Ethical Tourism
We believe great travel doesn't come at the expense of local communities or the environment. We pay our porters above the legal minimum wage, provide proper equipment and sleeping gear, and limit loads to 20kg (below the 25kg legal maximum). We follow Leave No Trace principles on every trek.
Personalized Service
Every itinerary can be customized to match your interests, fitness level, and schedule. Dietary restrictions, hotel upgrades, extra acclimatization days, private treks, we adapt to you, not the other way around. Contact us to start planning.
Our Guides
All our guides are:
- Certified by MINCETUR as professional tourism guides
- Wilderness First Aid trained with annual recertification
- Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, with knowledge of Quechua
- Deeply knowledgeable in Inca history, Andean ecology, and local culture
- Equipped with supplemental oxygen, pulse oximeters, and first aid kits
Our guides don't just lead the way. They explain the ruins, point out plants used in traditional medicine, and share stories passed down from their grandparents.
Our Porters
Every Inca Trail trek depends on its porters. Ours come from Quechua-speaking communities near Ollantaytambo and Mollepata, where portering provides seasonal income for farming families. We're committed to their welfare: fair wages, proper equipment, quality meals, and dignified working conditions. Read more about our porter practices.
