You will be able to take a shower at the end of the third day. You will need to purchase a ticket for about USD 2.00. Towels are available for rent at a cost of USD 1.50 each one. At the end of the second day, a few people jump in the creek crossing the campsite. Only a few people do this because the water is very cold.
During the entire trek you will find tap water. If you desire to drink this water, you should use water purification pills. You will be able to buy them once in Cusco at any local pharmacy.
